Areas of Competition & Judging Criteria


The offical areas of competition for all competitiors in each Age Division are as follows:



Prior to the begining of the live stage competition all pageant attendees will be asked to stand
and observe a moment of silence for the victims of the September 11th, 2001 terror attack.


Opening Number Routine- All contestants will participate in an opening number routine that contains a small amount of dancing. Required attire for this Opening Number will be determined by the Pageant staff and all contestants notified. You will not be judged during this Opening Number, however it is important to keep in mind that those contestants who fail to participate in Opening Number or do not meet the attire requirements for such will receive a 5 point deduction from their Overall Pageant Score. The music and tone of this number will be upbeat.

Personal Interview Competition- Each contestant will participate in a round-robin style pageant interview with the judges
panel. Each contestant will have 3 full minutes individully with each pageant judge. Judges will be able to ask questions from the contestant's submitted Judges Profile Sheet.

Aerobic Wear Competition- Each contestant will compete in an on-stage areobic wear competition in front of the
judges panel and a viewing audience. Contestants attire should consist of clothing worn for an athletic or aerobic workout. Swimwear, costuming, and attire with thong back are all not allowed. Dance wear (used for practice work outs), and bear midrifs are permitted.

Evening Wear Competition- Each contestant will compete in an on-stage evening wear competition in front of the judges panel and a live viewing audience. Contestants in the "Jr. Miss" Division may wear a knee-length dress, or full length gown. All other divisions must wear a floor-length gown in any color or style of their choosing.


On-Stage Question- All contestants will be asked one question which they wil draw from a 'fishbowl' live on stage
in front of the judges panel and a live viewing audience. Contestants will remain in their Evening Wear attire for this
portion of the competition.



Judging will be based on and conducted via the following format:


Numerical scoring is based on 100 points (per judge)  being a perfect score.

Personal Interview- Each judge will give each contestant a numerical score of between 1 and 45 points for
this portion of the competition. Contestants will be judged on poise, personality, confidence and overall
impression of appearance. (45% of a contestants total score per judge.)


Aerobic Wear Competition- Each judge will give each contestant a numerical score of between 1and 25 points
for this portion of the competition. Contestants will be judged on poise, confidence, level of fitness and overall
appearance in chosen attire. (25% of a contestants total score per judge.)


Evening Wear Competition- Each judge will give each contestant a numnerical score of between 1 and 25 points
for this portion of the competition. Contestants will be judged on beauty, grace, poise, confidence and overall
appearance in their chosen attire. (25% of a contestants total score per judge.)


On-Stage Question- Each judge will give each contestant a numerical score of between 1 and 5 points
for this portion of the competition. Contestants will be judged on poise, confidence and pubilc speaking ablility.
(5% of a contestants total score per judge.)


The contestant (in each division) with the highest combined Overall Score from the Judges
 will win her Division's National Title and a chance to become the Overall Queen.
The number of Runners-Up named in each division is dependant on the number of total
contestants competing that division.

The National Overall Queen will be chosen from the 2002 National Divisional Queens.
 She will be the competitor with the Highest Total Overall Score in the pageant.
